Our site search facility works by searching the entire text of our
A to Z of Council
Services. The Site Searcher will then display any entries that match
your query, allowing you to locate what you're looking for as rapidly as
possible (if it exists on our site) or to refine your query (if the material
you're looking for doesn't exist).
Our A to Z provides quick answers to the most common questions that
people ask us. And where more detailed information on a topic is available
elsewhere on our web site, the A to Z entry provides a handy hyperlink
to that material as well.
The Site Searcher does not search the text of PDF
documents on our site (eg: Council minutes, Annual Reports, common forms
etc) or our databases (Community Directory, Events Calendar etc).
This is because this type of search would be very slow and would produce
a large number of irrelevant entries.
So if you don't locate what you're looking for on your first search, simply
reduce the number of words in your query and try again.
In practice we've found that 90% of people find what they're looking
for on their first attempt. Almost everyone will find what they're looking
for on a second or third attempt.
All the same, we're constantly refining our A to Z to help produce the best
results for you. So if you use the Site Searcher and are unable to locate
what you're looking for, please
send us an email and tell
us about it. Your feedback will allow us to keep improving what we do.
